I would like information about File-Aid.
I post the message here because I don't see a better forum to post it.
I'd like to know how it is possible to compare two databases and how to restaure a database.
Thnaks for your help!
Well, i worked a while with file-aid, and i liked it. It's a great software to handle testdata etc.
i think you have to specify the compare criterias for each table! after that you can creat a compare group for the database. maybe is there a function like autocompare for a whole database.
But im sure there are people around, they more about file-aid.
In fact, I heard it is possible to save and to restaure a database but i can't find any information on the way to do it.
Could someone help me?
Compuware has 3 main file-AID Solutions
* File-AID MVS/DB2 for mainframe data
* File-AID/CS for client server databases (Oracle, SQl server, XML & ODBC data sources)
* File-AID Express for complex data migration projects
I suspect it is File-AID/CS that you are interested in.
File-AID/CS has 3 main features:
Convert - reset your database to a known point, or generate test data from scratch, age data, extract related tables (eg parent rows & associated children) or de-sensitize to protect the innocent..
Compare - data, XML, schemas, text
Edit - tables and perfrom mass updates/deletions.
The following link will take you to the file-AID/CS web page. There you will find more detail and links to white papers etc.
I hope you find this useful. If you require additional information, please contact me directly: email@example.com
