Hello, I have a question that is probably relatively easy. If it's covered in the manual just let me know where and I'll RTFM but I've had no luck finding it so far.
Basically, I'm just trying to get QA Run to read a piece of text from a table in an app and assign it to a variable, so I can use QA Run to take that variable and plug it into another application. I'm not doing a check really, I'm just trying to capture the text and make it a variable. I thought GetStr() would do the job but I haven't had much luck using that either. Anyone care to point me in the right direction?
Well I did look at the capture function but I was not sure exactly how it would read in the text. The window it's in is identified as a listview if that helps.
If capture pulls in ALL the text in the listview window I suppose I could toss it all into an array and pull out the bit I need but that seems overly complex. In the attached image I'm just looking to get the Benefit # entry.
Yes, it is a grid. Your only option is probably a CaptureBox function which will use coordinates to only capture the piece of info you want. The only issue is that the field you want to capture needs to be in the same postion every time relative to the Object Map that you use in the CaptureBox function.
If you need to capture mupltiple lines from the grid, you can variablize the 'x' coordinate in the CaptureBox function Trial and error will tell you how much to increment 'x' for each capture.
