Using QARun with SQL server databases
This is a strange question, but first some background....
I have a test lab where I could setup around 24 pcs for test automation. Using the SQL with QARun, I have to set up QLD link files on each of the machines. This isn't an issue if the machines will remain static. However, in our test environment, I want to be able to switch SQL databases on each machine. Is there a way I can automated setting up each QLD file? I tried exploring windows macro programs but can't find anything that is cheap and works.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Re: Using QARun with SQL server databases
Here is some more information...
I have resolved having individual qld files set up on the test lab pcs. Compuware indicated that you also need to have db owner user with SQL authentication set up. Windows authentication may not work correctly.
In either event, I am still running into the run-time errors with the databases. Compuware now tells me that each sql database has to have a unique user name in the database. If I have 12 databases in SQL format, I have to have twelve unique users. This doesn't seem right but I will try this to see if this resolves the run-time errors.
