    QARun and Web Browsers

    Good morning everybody,

Following my topic "Dr Watson Error Message on Netscape" posted a couple of weeks ago (to which I still haven't found a solution) I am now encountering problems with IE. For some reason it is not picking up BitmapSelects correctly and it is falling over. On recording and clicking onto a Bitmap, which in turn is a link to the relevant page I wish to get onto, this is just hanging and not functioning correctly. I cannot even stop recording the script, I have to exit out using task manager for some reason.
Has anybody seen this before, or could someone please assist in how to stop it from happening. Either this or does anybody know a web browser that is more consistant than IE or Netscape.

    Thanks
    Spill

    Hi Spilll,

Is it definately a bitmap that you are trying to select? I have just tried it on IE 5.5 but the link was a gif. This picked it up as an ImageSelect ().

Also, what version of QARun are you on and what learn settings have you selected?

    Regards,

    Re: QARun and Web Browsers

hi mooreaz, thanks for getting back to me.

    the scripting states :

    Attach "~N~IEXPLORE.EXE~BrowserWindow~MadeUpName"
    BitmapSelect "MadeUpName_0004", 'Left SingleClick'
Have taken out Type to Control setting but have Bitmap Select check box activated. Dont know whether this is the correct format like.
    Version of QARun is 4.7.

    Re: QARun and Web Browsers

If the picture has been created using the IMG tag in html then ImageSelect () should pick it up. I had the same settings as you when I tried it.

Try that and let me know what happens.

    Re: QARun and Web Browsers

    Hi,

I have viewed the Source Code and it is not using the IMG tag. It is identifying the class as a frame, just as what is stated in the source code.
Any ideas as to what I can do next?

    Thanks very much Mooreaz

hmmmmmm, I don't suppose you can alias the object as something a little more sensible?

I am a little stumped here. Would you be able to attach some of the code that I can run to try some things out. I realise that you could only do this is if doesn't compromise any confidentiality.

    Re: QARun and Web Browsers

    hi mooreaz

this is apparently a known issue whereas if you start netscape while qarun is running, qarun will not be able to properly learn against netscape.
the way they say to resolve this problem is to start netscape before starting qarun, but saying that this is a problem on its own.

we now have the licence for version 4.8.0, hopefully this will resolve the problem.

    thanks anyway mooreaz
