    Learning and Replay easy?

Why do I get the message "Failed to find Attach Window ..." ? I just learned the following

    Start
    - Push 'Start' Button
    - Click on 'Run'
    - Type "command"
    End

    Why?
Can anyone help me out because I'm loosing a lot of time here. Thanks

    Re: Learning and Replay easy?

Are you on windows 2000 (i found win2k more unreliable than NT on the start menu)?

I had a lot of problems with attaching to the start menu.

Try using the following instead of what you learnt:

    ;start of script

    current_os = SystemInfo( "os" )

    If current_os = "NT"

    ;NT
    Attach "~N~EXPLORER.EXE~Progman~Program Manager"
    HotKey 0

    Elseif current_os = "Win2K"

    ;2000
    Attach "~U~EXPLORER.EXE~Shell_TrayWnd~"
    HotKey 500
    Endif

    ;end of script

What this does is directly call the 'Run' window rather than rely on the start menu.

I can't tell you why it fails to attach to the start menu properly though.

I tried it but it doesn't work.
I use Windows 2000 but is it possible that QARun 4.4.0 doesn't support Windows 2000?

    Re: Learning and Replay easy?

You have a very old version of QARun (the current release is 4.8) I would suggest an upgrade to the latest version - which does support Windows 2000. I would suggest that you contact your local office to enquire about an upgrade.

"I use Windows 2000 but is it possible that QARun 4.4.0 doesn't support Windows 2000?"

Maybe. I do remember that the initial releases of 4.4.0 were crap laden!

They were pulled from the shelves they were so bad. If you've got one of those early 4.4.0 builds... an upgrade was almost a necessity back then.

Either way, an upgrade is advised.
