Now we are setuping QARun and QACenter in the company.
So, the question is: does anybody has already coding conventions document or agreement? I'm not familiar yet with the script syntax, but it should be some conventions from the beggining, because several people should be involved in creating scripts.
If you have it - could you, please, share a document?
I am working on one for my team. I have about 15 - 20% of it done at the moment.
I would reccomend you do what I did. Go to the web and find a coding conventions document done, and customize it for QARun...you would have to redo the high level structure of each test db, but the low level stuff is mainly the same: ie: meanign ful variables, one operation per line, use white space liberally, spaces between operators and vars, alphebetize your function implementations in your script rather than scrambling them all over, etc)
Does anyone read the whole of these documents? Why not get the book 'code complete' by Steve Mcdonnell (I think) This is what you need for coding standards. Ok it may not give QARun examples but the techniques and advise is very good
The work is already DONE, Code Complete is an excellent reference for the reasoning behind the conventions, but don't reinvent the wheel, the conventions are readilly available and easily customizable.
