Uniface OCX Controls, QARun and Internet Exploder
We have a Uniface based application here which uses OCX controls within our forms to display HTML files in IE. This is causing me no end of problems because although it recognises that there is an object within the OCX when displaying, they do not have names, appearing only as "~U~~~" or "~0" if recording (UNIFACE objects are correctly identified elsewhere).
When I open the file manually in normal IE the objects are named correctly, for example, "~N~IEXPLORE.EXE~IMG~$CI_MENU1.png".
If I try playing back the instructions recorded in IE against the uniface app (replacing the window attach names) then it doesn't attach to the images.
Any ideas where I could be going wrong, tips for this sort of thing or is this a QARun "feature"?
The system is far too large to code for screen position mouse clicks so this is not an option.
Re: Uniface OCX Controls, QARun and Internet Exploder
QARun can have problems with OCX controls depending on the type of control and the way that it has been implemented. The fact that you are seeing ~U~~~ means that you are probably recoding these controls within your script as some type of Generic control. This means that QARun can not determine what type of control this is. You should obtain as much information about the control and how it was implemented and contact Compuware technical support. I think that the only other solution may be to find someone who has had this exact problem and knows how their developers where able to resolve it. Unfortunately it may be an unsupported control, but it should not appear as generic.
