Hi- been using QARun for a couple months, but am wondering what you find to be the best method of taking a screenshot.
Since I am running on Win95/98/2000 clients, I know that I can script a "print screen" command followed by opening Wordpad, pasting from the clipboard, saving the file, closing Wordpad and continuing, but is this the best/only way?
I have tried experimenting with various functions within QARun, but haven't stumbled across anything better yet. Does anybody here have a more efficient solution?
If the Print Scrn key is not setup to send a screen shot directly to the printer, then SnagIt works well. Have the script open and minimize SnagIt, then use the hot key to capture the screen shot. Note: make sure the QARun hotkeys are not the same in SnagIt.
Thanks for the suggestions. It pretty much confirms what I'd been thinking.
I had done a search of the forums before posting, but didn't see the previous thread due to my preferences being set to only show topics from the last 100 days. Sorry- My bad! I've fixed that now. For anyone else's future reference, the previous thread is here: http://www.qaforums.com/Forum12/HTML/000181.html
You can go to Tucows.com and search for "Screen Capture" and you will see a list of about 200 of free/share screen grabber utilities. They range from Video or still shots and some of them even auto save the file after capture in a directiry of your liking. These would be ideal as you could then simply call the file when you needed it.
Does anyone know where can I get a free key license for Snagit 5.2.2 or if someone have a universal key that can be used for this program. I will appreciate alot if someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance
