Hi, I just reinstalled NT4, and put in a whole bunch of effort to get the quick launch toolbar (windows desktop enhancements, you only get it if you install IE4). Anyways, after that I installed QARun and now I get a general protection fault once starting qarun and moving my mouse over any item in the start menu.
Somebody did post something about a fix but that was many months ago, but now I really do need it... Can anybody point me in the right direction. I cant register at the Compuware support website because there is somebody else in our organisation who has and I cant track them down.
Thanks in advance email@example.com if you can help
Standard Compuware answer is:
COMPLETELY uninstall QARun (including all DLLs, registry keys, and uninstall folder) and install it again.
Don't use "Start" menu. You can put a shortcut on a desktop (just an example).
Unfortunately the automated scripts I'm maintaining make use of the start menu and dont think my tests would be thorough if I didn't try the start menu options, so no avoiding the start menu. I'll try another complete uninstall and check the registry entries too. Unfortunately this has happened on two of the computers I'm using currently

Do you have a step by step instructions from Compuware?
Just don't forget to remove uninstall folder.
Nope, was lacking in the instructions on how to completely remove QARun, but I dont think tis gonna help anyway. We have 4.7.4 here for evaluation which works fine (no problems with the start menu) but we have licenses for 4.6.4 so I really need to use that. I've tried removing 4.6.4 including registry entries, installed 4.7.4 gone back to 4.6.4 but no luck. I've found our customer number now though, so hopefully I might be able to find something useful in their support documentation.
