We are currently in the process of evaluating QARun for our environment. I am getting frustrated though, especially with Datawindows (getting data from it, picking the right row in an unsorted DW, even typing in text into an object - because it's already the same value, QARun doesn't want to capture my actions and when I type it, it doesn't won't recognize the "pbnone" attach!) etc...
I looked through some of the previous messages, found an old message from jwood about a work around, something about using mouse only/Object Map, but not a lot of details. If jwood is still around, I would love to get some details.
If anyone would be willing to share their experience with me (good or bad), some do's or don'ts I would really appreciate it. We need to have a new product soon, we thought this would be it, but now I am wondering...
I've used QARun with Power Build and havn't had any problems.
Are you using the DataWindow function?
ret = DataWindow("ControlId", "DataWindow Location ID" 'Options' x, y )
With that function you should be able to put focus into that row and into a cell. From there I beleive an edit control becomes visable(check with the identify tool) and you can use several edit functions to get the data of that cell.
I know somtimes it wount recognize all cells in a row. So you have to build a function that will "tab" to the cell you want, this is after one of them have focus(your cursor in it).
Also, are you adding all you object in the app to the object map?
If it isn't recognizing the objects after mapping then you will need to mess with the check boxes on the "Significate Fields" tab in "modify object map details".
If your not part of the solution, there's good money to be made in prolonging the problem.
