I'm interested in identifying an area of my application that QARun will find difficult to automate the testing of. The application is written using Delphi5. I'm looking to evaluate the tool with a view to automating regression testing.
Does anybody have any experience of situations where QARun has struggled to successfully automate tests?
No, I'm not trying to show that it's a bad tool - I'm actually quite a fan. What I'm trying to do is get myself familiar with scenarios where tools have failed in the past (or have at least struggled) so that when I am performing evaluations I can be confident that the tool is being stretched.
I want to reduce the risk of recommending a tool only to see that it doesn't fit in with business processes or technologies that it is testing. Hope that clarifies!
We are using QARun to automate multiple Delphi5 apps. If you want to run into "problem areas", just check out the TStringGrid, TTreeView, TToolBar and a lot of the static text labels that preceed various controls on dialogs such as an edit box.
