    QARun/TestPartner image click

    Hi all,

I wish to know how to get TestPartner (or QARun) to substitute a screen coordinate with a logical, meaningful name. E.g. I want to translate

    Window.Click x, y

    into something like

Click("Button1") or Button("Button1").Click (whatever the syntax is)

The TestPartner help file instructs that I can make an image object. According to the same help file, it claims "Therefore, whenever you record a mouse-click on this image, your defined image name is used within the script". Does anyone have experience or any idea???

    Frustrated,
    Gillian

    >> Sorry for the confusion. TestPartner can't recognize my GUI as object. In my example, TestPartner won't be able to recognize Button1, I'll have to capture it as an image manually. I want to find how TestPartner can recognize "Button1" as its assigned "mouse click offset" (captured automatically when you enter an image object). Thanks!

    Re: QARun/TestPartner image click

TestPartner should record that way by default. Here is a sample of the way it looks when I recorded a script to open and close Notepad:
    Window("Window").Attach
    Button("Caption=Start").Click
    Window.PopupMenuSelect "Programs~Accessories~Notepad"
    Window("Untitled - Notepad Window").Attach
    Window.Size 712, 411
    Window.Move 8, 14
    EditBox("Index=1").Attach
    EditBox.Type "hello"
    Window("Untitled - Notepad Window").Attach
    Window.Close
    Window("Notepad Window").Attach
    Button("Caption=&No").Click

Maybe one or more of your settings were changed to make it attach using coordinates.
