I have two player machines that have a version 0.0.01 lower than the conductor machine.
The conductor machine refuses to use these machines, and I can't find out how to update only that small increment...
Is there a way to update the player machines only to the version that I need?
Probably have to uninstall and reinstall. You can install only the player...
A problem is a difference between what is perceived and what is desired, that
we want to reduce (Dewey 1933)
That's the thing: it's a fresh installation of the player onto those 2 machines, and i don't have a newer install file anywhere...
No way to incrementally update?
What version(s) are you seeing? I know that sometimes the versions of Workbench, Conductor, Player, and Analyze are not the same (althogh they are for the most current release - 05.06.00 Build 167).
What steps and what errors are you getting. Conductor doesn't find these PCs when you Discover Players Machines?
Whether or not it was a fresh install, I recommend uninstall and reinstall to try and resolve the issue.
05.05.00 is the older version that I need to update to 05.05.01...
OK. So you are getting the error - incorrect player version - or some such. Have you gotten this to work?
Still worth a try to uninstall and resintall (even though this is a fresh install). You may have to search the registry for compuware references and delete them before the reinstall.
You may have to call support in the end...
Update: I have placed a call to support and I'm currently waiting for a return call.
I think I'm going to try to just get them all to 5.5.1...
Good choice, calling Compuware Support.
I got the download files and all of my systems are now 5.5.1 with SP4 installed.
Thanx for your help!
