I am trying to record a script but nothing is appearing within the script (apart from the default code).
What I have noticed is that when I check the the IE settings (when QALoad starts the browser) under Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings>Advanced, I would have expected the HTTP Server to be set to Localhost on Port 8080 and the Exception box to be empty. However, the settings remain unchanged.
I have seen this behavior before, where QALoad does not use or configure the proxy settings correctly. It seems to be machine specific, without any reason that I (or OS Security types) can determine - particularly since it will work on another identically configured machine.
To bypass the automatic QALoad proxy config, open IE, and change the proxy settings to localhost on port 1101, and Secure HTTP to localhost on port 1102. Then, open the record options for your WWW middleware session, and change the radio option from "Automatic Startup" to Manual, and pick the correct option - either direct connection (no firewall - the IE settings were blank), Configured proxy (the IE settings had a proxy server address and port configuration), or Proxy Configuration Script (there was one specified in IE).
Once done, you should be able to click record and collect data for a test script. If that does not work, then try checking to see if you have a security agent, firewall, or virus scanning program running that might be viewing the QALoad proxy server as malicious and blocking it.
Also note that with IE configured the way it is, you must be recording with QALoad to visit any web site - otherwise, the proxy on localhost 1101 will not be present. Remember to reset your IE settings and you can browse normally.
