I'm hoping someone can help. I'm currently in a dilemma, I'm trying to get our farm of 120 load injectors upgraded to QALoad 5.5
The person that installed the machines used a nice automated install to send out the entire QALoad 4.8.3 software to each injectors. However no matter which way I try I cannot get the software to silently un-install.
I've tried the setup.exe /uninst /s (Plus numerous other switches) and even a recodring of a setup.iss of the uninstallation proceedure, yet it still will not uninstall silently. As you can understand I do not particularly want to go to each injector and uninstall manually as this would break the management patching and upgrade cycle.
Has anyone else gone through this and can you help?
Thusarpandya, thankyou for that response, I did make sure I had administrative priviledges. Although I have come up with another solution entirly which involved a rebuild o the entire injectorfarm. So you can reference this later during a search here is what I've had to do to get around the whole issue.
1) Created a new Sysprep Mini-Setup image of the base operating system.
2) Created 2 Active Directory OU's one for 4.8.3 and one for 5.5
3) Placed an Active Directory policy to each OU for an install of 4.83, or 5.5 respectivly.
4) Rebuilt each of the Injectors and placed them in the correct OU depending on which version we required.
I find doing it this way using control of AD I can remove 4.8.3 and shift Computers from the 4.8.3 OU and into the 5.5 OU and vis-versa.
In the furture this allows us to return to 4.8.3 and switch back and forth dependant upon the testing we require.
Now all I have to do is the same for the mercury toolset of Winrunner and loadrunner now
