The client I'm working for has the Compuware QALoad tool to perform load/performance testing. I have found that recording with QALoad 5.2 does not work in this environment if WindowsXP sp2 is installed on the pc. It only seems to work on the machines with WinXP sp1. Their new release, QALoad 5.5, indicates that it works with sp1 or sp2. It still will not record on sp2.
I've been told that QALoad changes the proxy when it executes so it can intercept the HTML traffic during recording. Looking at Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings I see the Automatic Configuration script address is checked and the Proxy Server box is checked (needed for recording).
Has anyone else using this tool encountered this problem and found a solution for it.
I did encounter this problem, and the work-around is to change the record settings to(1) a manually started browser, (2) Tools\Internet Options\ Connection \ Lan Settings \ Advanced \ change HTTP & Secure to Localhost port 1101 & 1102 & finally (3) Set the start page to a blank page.
