DO_WSK_SEND and Datapools

Hi, I have a qaload script here I recorded. It uses the DO_WSK_SEND macro to send the http request to the target webserver. That works, but the values are all hard coded (see sample below):

It won't accept char * for the send parms, but the userid is IN the send parms and it has to be dynamic (it will come form the datapool)

This MUST be common, how does everyone get around this?

Thanks

DO_WSK_Send(S1, "GET /analytics/Res/b_mozilla/b_mozilla_4/pageelements.js HTTP/"
"1.1\r\nAccept: */*\r\nReferer: http://sew00353/analytics/saw.dll?Portal"
"\r\nAccept-Language: en-us\r\nAccept-Encoding: gzip, deflate\r\nUser-Ag"
"ent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; T312461; RBC; 9"
"LA; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)\r\nHost: sew00353\r\nConnection: Keep-Alive\r\nC"
"ookie: nQuireID=9F42KSTDQBHB3INSO59SS5TB8DSO0BNMORTNFHQ; nQU=user0001; "
"nQP=\r\n\r\n");

Re: DO_WSK_SEND and Datapools

I am using 4.80.03.205

I am going to ask if i can just run the test with read only, and then i can just use the same account. But for the future, this is pretty critical information that i would like to know how to solve!

There must be some way people get around this. I am looking over the qaload includes now and there are a lot of macro's. I don't understand how they can expect this to be dynamic when critical functions are using macros.

Mind you, i am not a C master, so there may be simple ways around it, but i don't know of any offhand.

Thanks in advance.

Re: DO_WSK_SEND and Datapools

First, 4.8 is getting pretty long in the tooth. They are up to 5.1 now.

Have you checked out the DO_GetUniqueString function? You should be able to pull parts of the string apart and substitute new parts.

Re: DO_WSK_SEND and Datapools

Hi wgf

i always use the following to solve this problem

char DPVar0[VARLEN];
.....
DO_WSK_Send(S1, strcat(strcat(strcpy(DPVar0,"my string"), VARDATA(1)),"the rest of my string"));

here it is applied to the example you posted, i always use a central datapool and am referencing the first column.

/* Declare Variables */
char DPVar0[VARLEN];
.....
DO_WSK_Send(S1, strcat(strcat(strcpy(DPVar0,"GET /analytics/Res/b_mozilla/b_mozilla_4/pageelements.js HTTP/"
"1.1\r\nAccept: */*\r\nReferer: http://sew00353/analytics/saw.dll?Portal"
"\r\nAccept-Language: en-us\r\nAccept-Encoding: gzip, deflate\r\nUser-Ag"
"ent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; T312461; RBC; 9"
"LA; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)\r\nHost: sew00353\r\nConnection: Keep-Alive\r\nC"
"ookie: nQuireID=9F42KSTDQBHB3INSO59SS5TB8DSO0BNMORTNFHQ; nQU="), VARDATA(1)), "; "
"nQP=\r\n\r\n"));

Hope this helps
