Login before every transaction??
My scripts are designed in such a way that I have a VU logging in at the beginning of a transaction and logging out at the end of the transaction. It does not mimic the business scenario that needs to be tested. How are load tests usually designed - does the user login at the begining of the test and log out after the completion of the tests or is it the way I have it scripted??
I am new to the QA world and finding my way through things. I have to say, I am enjoying working in QA!!
Re: Login before every transaction??
you don't have to have people logging in and out at the begining and end of your script if this is not typical user action. If your script consists of
1. Log on
2. go to main page
3. enter transaction detail
4. submit detail
5. go back to main page
6. log off
but your users typically do step 1, then repeat steps 2-5 and finally step 6 then what you need to do is move the Synchronize and Begin_Transaction commands after step 1 and the End_Transaction command before step 6. Your main transaction loop will be within the application with a single logon/logoff step.
You may need to fine tune the positioning of the Begin/End_Transaction steps to suite your application.
