I have a Client application installed in the desktop. The Application workflow is as follows
A. User clicks on buttons, and submits request from GUI interface.
B. This message gets sent to the Windows Application server, where another communication interface passes the message to DB
C. DB returns content to App Server, which in turn passes back to Client GUI.
The application installed in the desktop is scripted using VB6 and in some months it may go for .Net migration.
i Tried ADO protocol for this , but iam not sure if it would be appropriate.
What protocol can i use to record this type of application. Can anyone Suggest on this pls.
ADO protocol? Is this a QALoad specific question or general question because QALoad doesn't have an ADO middle-ware option that I know of. They do have .Net, so you may be in luck when your app is converted. But you most likely will be creating a WinSock script.
You can try the Universal Record option to see what it captures.
A problem is a difference between what is perceived and what is desired, that
we want to reduce (Dewey 1933)
the universal session only uses the ADO protocol. ADO protocol is there in QALoad Version 5.6. Actually ADO is .net if iam not wrong.
Maybe i will give a try for Winsock. Usually if its windows based app i use ODBC in Loadrunner not sure in QALoad though
