I am using QAload 5.6 version, www middleware. In the script server time out is set as 30 Seconds.Does it mean that , If QALoad doesn't get response within 30 Seconds, will it take it as failed transactions. If so i am getting 160 seconds response time for few transactions like login etc.
Could you please explain how much time QA Load wait for the response from application.
That's what it says in the help file. It does not clarify whether this means XX seconds to complete loading the whole page or getting any response from the server within XX seconds after the request is sent. I do believe it is the later. But I have seen the timeout occur when set at 120 seconds when the server stopped responding or the PC lost connection, etc.
You may be fully aware of this but I'll elaborate. After the request the initial response with either a redirect or the base HTML page may be sent (before the server repsonse timeout) but it may then take many more requests and repsonses completely load all the items required for the page such as jsp's, images, etc. So you may see a 160 second response time for the "checkpoint" timing to load all the items for the webpage without ever going over the 30 second response timeout.
If you use YSlow or a proxy capture with page load timings like Fiddler to do this manually and look at the data for the login page, you will probably see that the initial response for login (often a redirect) happens within the 30 second timeout, but that loading the whole page is what is taking longer than 30 seconds.
