I'm using the Windows Registry monitoring task in Conductor to return server metrics.
...But there's a lot of different ones to choose from. Understanding that most people are not going to understand any metrics that are more complex than what you can view in the Windows Task Monitor, I'm now wondering which ones you experienced peeps have found to be most useful in communicating how the server is performing through your tests.
Please chime in and let me know which ones you have found that your client understands the best or feels is most helpful to them.
Re: Which server Windows Registry metrics do you use?
I think this really depends on who you are communicating with. If it is reporting back to your PM on the success or otherwise of your tests then I would generally avoid any mention of counters as it would just confuse them. I only really start digging into the counter data once a problem has been identified, and then it's a case of exploring the issue until you hopefully find a smoking gun and report it to the people responsible for your hardware. So which counter(s) you reference really depends on where your investigations take you.
