Build Reconcile requirements from QAD Suite?
Does anyone have any experience creating test requirements for Reconcile from an existing QADirector suite?
We have a couple of QADirector suites set up that we would like to copy into Reconcile. One suite has 3200 tests in it, while the other has 600 tests in it. Compuware says that we should define the requirements to Reconcile, then create the suite entries from there.
Since we are going backwards of the supported process, we're on our own.
Our QAD database is in SQL, it seems like the necessary information could be extracted using SQL calls.
I'm thinking of creating a QARun script to pull the information from SQL, and feed it to the Reconcile dialogs.
If you have done this and have some pointers, or scripts that you'd be willing to share, please let me know.
Re: Build Reconcile requirements from QAD Suite?
It sounds like a fun undertaking. I am curious, though. Once you have the suite information from QADirector, how are you going to automate populating the associated requirement? My guess is that the associated requirement layout will not follow the suite's layout. So that means there will have to be additional logic programmed to determine what suite information is associated to what requirement. It sounds like a major undertaking. I canít see of any way of doing it without having any user intervention during the transfer process. If you come up with a way, please do tell.
