Has anybody setup QADirector to rerun a suite automatically?
Hi, we are trying to set up QADirector to automatically run a suite after the suite finishes. What we have been trying to do to run the same suite 10 times in a roll without having to submit it 10 times. Has anybody done this before?
Re: Has anybody setup QADirector to rerun a suite automatically?
I have done this, but I used TestPartner to help accomplish this. Basically, my QADirector suite contains QARun scripts. I opened up QADirector to the screen with my suite, with the Job Description window up and visible. I then started a new TestPartner script, and I recorded the motions of clicking on the "Submit" button. The next line in the TP script was a "Pause" statement, where I set the time to a value high enough so that it would give QADirector a chance to finish running the suite. The next step is to go back into TP, and place the entire process of clicking "Submit" and waiting the time duration in a giant "For-Next" loop where I designated the number of times I wanted the suite to run.
There's probably a more "technical" way for TP to see that Director is done, than my method of simply waiting a fixed amount of time. You may be able to set up some sort of screen or text event, where TP looks for the word "Finished" in the Director window or something along those lines. But for my purposes, giving a fixed amount of time works fine.
