Has anybody ever needed to have a script access a database through an ole db connection? What is your recommended way of doing it?
Our aut can now act as an oledb datasource, and I would like to test this using silktest. Unfortunately there is no easy and obvious way of doing this. There do appear to be middleware products out there which can allow silktest's inbuilt odbc connectivity to work through them and access our aut as an oledb datasource, but they seem expensive. Any advice gratefully received.
Re: OLE-DB connectivity?
Found the appropriate solution. Merant, as part of their DataDirect Connect ADO package, include a component called the ODBC/OLE DB Adapter, which allows an odbc datasource (which silk can connect to) to be set up which just connects straight through to the oledb datasource, allowing completely transparent connectivity from silktest.
And the licence only costs £70 per workstation seat, so it's definitely affordable.
