Automated Login/ Remote Reboot
I was owndering if anyone could help me. I an trying to automate the login into NT using SilkTest. I have found a script in the download section which appears to do the same but does anyone know what msw32.inc abd the backw.inc contain because they were not included in the download area. If anyone could help me out with this it would be great.
Re: Automated Login/ Remote Reboot
msw32.inc and bwcompat.inc are included in SilkTest. By "use"ing them you get access to extra functions that may be needed to perform some of the operations needed by these functions.
The easiest way I have found to automatically login to NT machines is to edit the registry. You have to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windowsnt\cu rrentversion\winlogon in there you must have a string AutoAdminLogon = 1 a string DefaultUserName = "your user name" a string DefaultDomainName = "the desired domain" and DefaultPassword = "your password". With these set up it will automatically log you in. In order for this to work properly the user who logs in must have a password.
For 9x machines I use TweakUI which can be found (I think) on the Windows installation disk, or download it from Microsoft. It works the same as above, but it has a GUI which can be found in the Control Panel (once installed).
