Grid and Tree Third Party Controls
The java applet used in the web app being tested contains a treeview component and a grid Protoview ( it's the vendor)components. I guess they are not very popular. Recording Window Declarations from Silk, they are recognized as CustomWin, and every single node in the tree and cell in the grid are also CustomWin. So, I work on the grid by using the index of every cell as an unique tag identifier. Then, when I run my script, it seems like the Agent is only recognizing the grid as one CustomWin with nothing inside. Thus, I cannot point to a cell.
I'm running Netscape 4.
Any help ? Anybody has work with these same components?
Re: Grid and Tree Third Party Controls
I also worked on Java GUI components similar to the ones you're describing, I think they were called Microline or something...
Anyway, I could not read anything from the tree view nor the grid using Silk 1.1. I did report that problem to Segue, and I believe they were going to look into supporting them. Meanwhile, I think you can benifit if you had the Silk Beans... I believe that enables you to get the info and manipulate the components directly. Or you can wait for Segue to support them.
