    Re: Dynamic changes in SilkTest

Do you mean how to identify the dynamic objects?
if so,then for every object there are around 6 attributes defined like Caption, prior text,Windows ID,Index id etc.., it does not mean that you can find out all the attributes for any Html Object, so it depends on what object you are looking at.
For instance, if we look at the Inbox Html object which changes at every session, then in that case try to find out the attribute, which is constant at all times.

    Thanks Santhosh.

For cases where it's just a change in a link, I'd think that Prior Text would be the most useful of the captions.

    Re: Dynamic changes in SilkTest

I dont think just using prior text is going to help. Consider a situation where the prior text points to yet another dynamic object.
There is no fixed method of dealing with this scenario. You just have to figure out what works best for your application. First step is to study exactly what percentage of your page is dynamic and then work towards finding some relationship between those objects that are static and those that arent.
I agree there are a lot of posts here which will help towards addressing your unique scenario.

    Re: Dynamic changes in SilkTest

If your application is changing often, use strict coding standards and naming conventions for your code as well as INC files. Try to write more functions and don't repeat. It can solve 90% your problem. Choose the areas which will be stable at least for 2 release..
