It seems to me that SilkTest is not able to Indentify the column name of the Excel, bcz when I used sql statement "Select * from [VariablesReg$]" it works fine but when I used "Select [VariablesReg$].VariableId from [VariablesReg$]" it gives error "Error: (42000) [Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver] Unknown"
I also tried "Select `VariablesReg$`.VariableId from `VariablesReg$`" but getting the same error. Thats why I m thinking that Silk Test is not able to identify the column name from Excel sheet.Due to which
DB_ExecuteSQL(hdb, " UPDATE `VariablesReg$``VariablesReg$` SET `VariablesReg$`.value1='abc' WHERE `VariablesReg$`.Id='str1'")
when I use this statement I get the following error:
*** Error: (42000) [Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver] Unknown
So please let me know, how to declare column name in excel sheet?
The very first row in the Excel sheet should contain the column names. You should then be able to then use the DB_Columns command in SilkTest to verify you can see the column names correctly from the Excel sheet.
