VB control - which extension ?

I need acccess to VB controls. I know nothing about VB.

The Silk extension dialog tells me to enter the path to the dll or executable, but I have no idea what that would be.

    Help anybody ?

On NT, you can use the NTHandleEx utility to get a list of DLLs that any application uses (while it is running). Or you can use the Depends utility to get a list of DLLs that an application loads (if it is not already running). Is your VB control running inside a browser? If so, all you need to do is enable the ActiveX checkbox in the extensions.

    jb,

    Thanks for your reply.

This is an install test, all I do is click on setup.exe to begin the long process.

Hence, although I am indeed running on NT, I have no idea what application is opening the subsequent screens. So that approach does not help me.

    No browser is involved.

One of my developers suggested I try linking MSVBVM60.DLL

However, I have been unable to link it in.

There is a strange drop down menu in the Silk Extension enabler for "primary extension". It defaults to none. I have no primary extensions enabled. When I click on NEW and browse to the MSVBVM60.DLL it does get added to the list of extensions.

But when I close the extension enabler and then re-open it, the MSVBVM60.DLL which I added is no longer there.

Questions: what is a primary extension ? Do I need one ? If so, why ?

I think I need to specify MSVBVM60.DLL as my primary extension, but the Silk Extension Enabler does not offer any way to do that.....

    Ideas anyone ?

    Thanks in advance,

VB dll are normally in "C:\Program Files\Common

have VB6 installed on your computer.
This is probably where you have to point silktest.
Have not test VB controls with silktest myself. so this
might not be what is required.
