Been using SilkTest v.8 for some time without issue. We have a meter license server that is recognized by the smadmin and smconfig setup/test apps. I recently went thru the process of generating/converting a license via the Borland online license generator so I can run the 2006R2 version. It recognized and gave back the Host ID. I ran the 2006R2 installer, and entered the path and port for meter server host and tested it via smadmin and smconfig - the test and connection reported OK. Problem is everytime I try to run silktest it comes up immediately with the msgbox saying "NO license for Silktest_GUI 8.5". I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but that doesn't work.
Any suggestions on what else to check? Is there a particular file I am missing perhaps? Thanks
I don't think there are any files that you are missing...
Try doing this:
1) Log in to your SilkMeter and see if license is there
2) I think in 2006R2, you have to create a profile for the license server (don't take my word for it though...)
1. You can check your network. Sometimes we have similar problem due to network identification. Usually we will give the machine name and few machines are not getting license. At that time, you can't access the license server from that machine. It will work if you give IP address of license server.
2. Lower version of silktest can use higher version's license. In this case, you may need to restart your service or machine.
