Re: What is Recovery System in Silk Test
There is pretty good help files on it. But really the power is that the tool will with a little help shut down the application after a failed test. The next test should drive to the point of test execution to then perform the next test. It really doesn't require you to perform much of any code to get from point a to point test via the use of application states (Methods) and a base state (yet another method)
It is Silks OO design that helps this process occur quite easily. That is why it is called built in. I will say that in the last application I have been working in it has taken me away from this model due to the fact they have a Java applet that can not be killed unless properly exited. Due to the nature of the business it is hard to figure out how to properly exit the applet at different business points.
The System level Kill method is our weapon of choice in this situation wrapped in our own recovery system. I do hate that I had to create my own. But that is also a show of how versatile the silk test system is.
