OCR with Silk
Can somone explain how Silk works with OCR?
Re: OCR with Silk
I don't have Silk Test in front of me so I'm only going off memory. If I remember correctly there is an OCR.inc file that has some functions for capture text which is similar to the way Textract would capture the text.
The way I learned how to use this was to get a demo of Textract and use it separate from Silk Test. After setting up Textract I would output the data to a .txt file. Once I got Textract setup to give me my expected output I went to Silk Test and setup a script to capture the same output. Once I got them both to work the same I knew I had it. Keep in mind that Textract won't capture everything correctly. I used against MS Calculator first and two or three buttons didn't get recognized correctly.
Also, I don't think you need Textract to actually use the OCR capabilities of Silk Test. I actually had abandonded using OCR for my project because I came up with another solution. I would also recommend that if possible since the OCE may be an unreliable solution for you in the long run.
