SilkTest has a bug when dealing with embedded ActiveX object in a browser. I have logged a bug with them over a year ago -

Sorry, forgot to mention that my AUT had a flash scripted player embedded in the browser. With the extensions (plug-ins) enabled, the browser would close and I was unable to run any tests on it -

OS: Win 2000 and WinXP(SP2)
I am trying to test our web application by interacting with the Windows Media
Player Active X object. When the extensions are correctly enabled (enabled
first in Windows Start Menu, then enabled in the project, then test is run,
where 1st instance of browser is generated) IE will be forced closed when the
player object is detected.
Both this example code and our web application will result in a forced closed
browser. To simplify further, even with the SilkTest application and agent
closed, if only the ActiveX extension is enabled and the IE broswer is manually
directed to a page with the player object, the broswer will automatically close.
Note that the browser security/information bar is disabled in the XP(SP2) case.
