How to Use LTRIM Function in SILK

    Hi

We are just started using SILK tool for automating our regression tests, as part of this while trying to automate an functionality.. we facing some issue. Illustration follows:

when i go and click on some of object my home page for creation the object it takes me to new window(which is been identified as for ex: New Properties Page), but when i try preview the existing obect Properties page, even this also takes me to the same window ( but here window is been identified as ex: properties Page).

Now i would like to know your thoughts and ideas on this, how best i can make use of LTRIM function to make it more generic so that i can use the same variable for recognizing both the windows.

Or is there any other function, to meet this requirement in SILK.

    Pls add up.

Re: How to Use LTRIM Function in SILK

Do a declaration on each to see what the tag is for each. Assuming they are nearly the same, declare an instance of both in a generic manner. E.g.,

    window DialogBox NewProperties
    [ ] tag "~ActiveApp/[DialogBox]*Properties Page"

Use the wildcard char of '*' to address variations of the tag for each instance of the object. That way either will be referred to as NewProperties. Be careful about the 'window not unique' error if both pages are available at the same time.
