I used only classic 4Test for years and within the last 2 years have used visual 4Test. I find it much easier to use as you get the color coded text, immediate syntax checking, the ability to collapse large chunks of code, and intellisense.
I have been working with Silk for about 6 years and started off using the classic 4test. This just made more sense to me at the time because I was at the time writing a lot of C++ code. After about 6 months of using classic I made the switch over to visual because of the Intellisense as well as being able to indent and hide large portions of the code. This makes large frame files a little more readable IMHO

I have been using Silktest for 8 years and have always used the Classic mode. I find the Visual 4Test mode is not easy to work with when coding complex classes and test cases.
Please provide your feedback and preferences and why?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">If you have 100 lines of codes that you need to comment out and you'd rather type in "//" for each line, then maybe you should stay with your Classic Editor. And if you change your mind and decide to uncomment these 100 lines later, then...
you'll probable hit that Delete key 200-300 times.
The movies still show the "Flinstones" once in awhile, don't they?
I have always used visual mode as has everyone that has worked with me. I don't see any advantage to using the classic mode. As far as I know there's nothing useful that you can do in classic mode that you can't do in Visual mode, while visual mode has some handy feaures that have been mentioned already. You get to add your own curly braces in classic mode but thats hardly a useful feature
I used Classic mode originally, but then switched when I got a contract where the Q.A. automation lead insisted I use Visual 4Test mode. It has been years since I used Classis mode and have no need to revert back.
