    Double Byte Chars in SilkTest

Does anyone know if there is a double byte version of SilkTest that can be used to test a Japanese application?

    Thanks.

Re: Double Byte Chars in SilkTest

I asked Segue support about this last December--they said no, there is not a version of Silk which supports multi-byte char sets.

They did say that there is an obsolute version of QA Partner which supported multi-byte, but it is no longer sold nor supported.

But you might want to check directly with them [Support] again on this issue, as I think language localization is starting to become important to many websites.

I did get a response from Segue on this issue. Here is the direct quote:

"Regarding the issue that you logged with us concerning Japanese and Double byte versions of Silktest. In the past we have had versions of Silktest for the Japanese market and versions that supported the double byte format however these have subsequently been discontinued because the technology involved needed updated. So we are currently developing new versions of these at the moment, unfortunately they are still at a fairly early stage of development and the release date for these new releases is Q2, 2001"

I consider that good news [should it really occur]. I hope though that they will develop a unicode version, rather than multi-byte version.
