silk test upgrade
i have silk test 5.0.1 and i am planning to upgrade to 5.0.3 or may be 5.03.1 but i am wondering about my all script which i wroyte in 5.0.1.
here is my question:
Do I need to rewrite my all script or there will not be any effect on my script(i.e i can run same script in newer vertion)
what is the procedure to upgrade tonewer vertion assuming that i have already old vertion and i am just upgrading it.
Re: silk test upgrade
If Segue or any other software vendor didn't provide backward compatability, they would quickly go out of business. You should not have any problems with your 5.0.1 scripts running on a later version, be it 5.0.2, 5.0.3, or 184.108.40.206 - except of course if you run into a known bug in that version.
Segue always provides installation/upgrade instructions, whether you get the software from a CD or their web site.
The standard procedure is to uninstall the current version, reboot, install the new version, reboot. The reboots are usually just a safety precaution, but you can never know if they're absolutely needed so just do them anyway.
However, the 220.127.116.11 release is a *patch* and it has its own special installation instructions as well as a very strange-looking installer (not the usual isntall wizard). Basically you install 5.0.3 then apply this patch voer top of that.
