I have an executable (.exe) which I want to run before I kick off a SilkTest suite and then kill the process once the suite finishes.
The executable, when run via the cmd window will not return focus until the process is killed (via taskmgr or another way)
I am trying to concieve a way to kick this off via SilkTest without having to Open a new cmd window and typing in the cmd since I already have a cmd window open for the batch file which runs the suites.
Is there some cmd I can do similar to Sys_Execute, which does not work due to focus not being returned.
Re: Execute exe via Silk which does not return focus
Sys_execute Fails since the process does not get terminated until you do <ctrl-Z> on the command window or kill the process.
From Silk Help --> For example: SYS_Execute ("freecell.exe") starts Freecell in an invisible window and SilkTest does not continue until the Freecell process is terminated.
I can try the Start method and see what happens but I wouldl like to run the process/executable in the background like Sys_Execute does, so I don't get interference from the CMD window existing during my test runs.
