On two different machines, right? You can't use two agents on the same machine at once (unless, of course, you are running vmware, in which case you really do have two machines).
1) start vmware from the command line
2) don't try to interact with the vmware gui, connect into an agent running in the image
3) use snapshots
4) put a shortcut to the agent in the startup folder
5) to kill the vm, you need to kill it from the host and have the agent closed down first, which is tricky
