Performance of SilkTest 2006 R2 vs. SilkTest 7.5
Until I few months ago I used SilkTest 7.5 to test my application under test (a .Net application with some ActiveX controls on its GUI, so in my extensions I have .Net as primary ext, ActiveX as secondary ext.)
I installed SilkTest 2006 R2 a few months ago and I'm having some performance problems when dealing with some forms of my AUT.
Actually, Borland recognized that ST 2006 R2 has slow performance when testing with ActiveX extension, as they state in the readme notes for Patch1 (which I can't use because then my AUT simply doesn't start).
Sometimes when my test opens some AUT forms that take a while to load, a kind of "deadlock" happens and both my AUT form and ST hang.
Have you had the same feeling about ST 2006 R2? Did you notice performance problems with comparison to previous versions?
Re: Performance of SilkTest 2006 R2 vs. SilkTest 7.5
We had to wait to use R2 as well until we applied a few hotfixes. There are more out there than just one. We don't use .NET though, so maybe the other hotfixes aren't .NET specific. Might want to check with support on that. I can say that speed is about the same on IE6 as 7.5 was, but that we're seeing faster performance on IE7.
