I met a case that it's very slow while SilkTest executes scripts. My testing environments as following,
1. DotNet application with several windows which have multi-parent. (In my machine, it's very slow to operate controls for SilkTest).
2. C/S & B/S application(two client tools).
3. SilkTest licence server is in UK, and SilkTest host and agent is in China.
4. This is a cross-project testing, the testing inc files are from 4 projects.
Maybe my testing environments are a little complicated, but the executiong speed is too slow.
What kinds of machines are you running on? The memory on the machine that you are running on will most likely be one of two big factors. Get lots of memory. I run on machines with 2 gigs of RAM.
The second thing that it can be is the number of objects that Silk has to deal with. DotNet and Browser apps with a lot of controls present Silk with a LOT of information to manage. This is also a factor. Having more memory can help this problem, but you will still notice a performance difference between apps with fewer controls and those with a lot of them.
What version of SilkTest are you using? If it's the newest or newer one, make sure you did not accidentally select the Slow Motion option.
You mentioned "running slow on your machine". Did you try running from a different machine? Is every single script running too slow? Can you create a very simple script from scratch and see what the speed is when you run this script?
