    Invoke browsers without using DefaultBaseState

I am currently using the built-in Recovery System to start and stop my browser in test scripts. I want to invoke the browser on my own without the help of the Recovery System. I have a main.inc that I am using where I declare my browser. How do invoke a browser based off of a ini setting instead of just testing from the DefaultBaseState?
    Note:
I have the Default browser in runtime settings to none and I am really not sure how to invoke the browser for each browser type(i.e. Firefox, IE6, IE7)individually.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Have you tried

    Browser.Invoke ()
    Browser.LoadPage("some url")

Re: Invoke browsers without using DefaultBaseState

Use an Option Set and have a different one for each browser type you want to use. In the Option Set set the DefaultBrowser Option to whichever browser you want to use (e.g. firefox1_5, explorer6_DOM etc.). Then when you use Browser.Invoke() it will invoke the browser specified in the Option Set.

There is plenty of info on Option Sets in the help if you get stuck.

I haven't used the Option set before. I'll have to do some research. Is it better to look on Borlands site or in the help for this information?

Re: Invoke browsers without using DefaultBaseState

Look up the following help topics in SilkTest:
"Using options sets in a project"
    "SetDefaultBrowserType function"
    "SetBrowserType function"
