I have 2 months to figure out how to use the extension kit and to see if it will work for my software. Both of the examples segue provided frankly suck. Can anyone provide maybe some source code or a quick explanation of how to use the extension kit? Or maybe some advice on what i should do ?
Dont force me to hit you with the motivational stick again.
I am interested in the extention kit. Do you get 2 month for the trial version? Can you apply the stuff created by the extention to all agents for running test with one license or would all agent/IDE would need to have a license for the extention.
Sorry for going off track. In the help document they suggest that you use the built-in Dll mechanism if you are not going to work with calling DLLs extensively. The only advantage is that Silk will run faster and additional features will be recognized as part of the language. I am not sure if this indeed will improve recognition of controls without DEV being involved on their side. Unless you want to augment the recognition by implementing some Active Accessibility add-on.
I had explored a bit some time back (Silk 5.3) and from what I gather, you basically create a dll with a 'friend' class to those being used in your application. This allows you (using the dll) to query / call functions internal to your application. (the dll calls the internal functions, processes the data and passes it backt to the agent. )the code for processing the data goes into this dll, and is better done by a dev if one is not familiar with c/c++.. As GodKnows says, involvement of Dev would be needed.
Basically, what we are doing is having another 'Interpreter' between the Agent and the application, which gets the data from the application and passes it back to Silk in a form which it can interpret
