Hi All, My application has installed on a remote m\c(citrix server) and i have an image of that application on my m\c thru which i can open that and perform operations even though that application is not installed on my m\c.When i try to automate this application, silk is not able to recognise the objects .Is there any option in silk test to recognise the objects of an application which reside on a remote machine without installing silk agent on that remote machine?
Citrix merely 'paints' the screen of the target app on your desktop as an image...therefore, you won't see any objects with SilkTest. If you want to test an app on Citrix, you need to have SilkTest installed on the target machine, then it can run against the app...I had to do this with an offshore team of QA engineers once.
I just started to investigate testing a Citrix based application and I got the same result as tsetklis. So you are saying that if I install silktest on the Citrix server that is hosting the client I will see the application? And also is there any way to run the tests on the clients?
I do the same. I have an offshore team that connects through Citrix to the remote/target machine and runs SilkTest scripts on the target. I have 6 people work this way and 4 of them have a weird issue. When Citrix gets disconnected the scripts fail with error message "Can not set active window". Is there any configuration I should be aware of that causes the issue? Screen save is off on all the machines...
