Is it possible to generate graphs using silk test. Hi,
I am trying to get the data from html table and then generate graphs for that.
1)How to get the numbers from the html table.
Presently I am using
Browser().BrowserChild().HtmlTable().HtmlColumn(). HtmlText("625.00#1@(85,10)").GetText ()
to get any type of data (i.e. number and text) and storing them in the excel database.
But the numbers are getting saved as text.and i am not able to typecast text to int as it returns the ASCII value of 1st letter of text.so can not use them to generate graphs.
2)Using this stored numbers i need to generate graphs.
Can we retreive this table data and generate graphs using silk test to show the statistics.
Ex: for banking application customer name, balance.
I need to get the balance from the html table and put it in database and generate graph yaxis=>balance and xaxis => customer name.
Can anyone tell me is it possible to do this using silk test. Or can silk test results be formated to generate graphs.
If yes how? <font color="blue"> Thanks & Regards,</font>

Hi hemangihere,
A sugestion:
1) Use Val function to convert numberstring to number
nNum = Val (sToConvert)
2) In Silk, make a table data in an Excel file and then you can make many charts type in Excel (manualy).
with regards,

>Yes till this i did,but I dont want to select the table manually in excel and create the graph.
Rather I was asking can silk be used to create graphs automatically by passing the parameters from this excel files. <font color="blue"> Thanks & Regards,</font>

Re: Is it possible to generate graphs using silk t Hema,
For the second one, you should use Excel templates. Template should be like follow.
In first worksheet, Silktest should put the data and in Second sheet, you can generate whatever chart you wants based on first worksheet data.
My suite gives the results output in a excel. First worksheet will have details of all testcases. Second worksheet will have statistics of results and charts as well.

Re: Is it possible to generate graphs using silk t Yes, Thats right. Solution given by Palani is good and can be applied in your situation as well. You can also create some Excel macros to generate graphs from the data you get in Excel, for example this code will generate graphs in the form of columns and It takes hardly few minutes to customize it according to your need.

Sub Macro1()
'
' Macro1 Macro
' Macro recorded 5/16/2007 by anand
'
'
Range("J21").Select
Charts.Add
ActiveChart.ChartType = xlColumnClustered
ActiveChart.SetSourceData Source:=Sheets("Sheet1").Range("A1:B4"), PlotBy:= _
xlColumns
ActiveChart.Location Where:=xlLocationAsObject, Name:="Sheet1"
With ActiveChart
.HasTitle = True
.ChartTitle.Characters.Text = "val"
.Axes(xlCategory, xlPrimary).HasTitle = False
.Axes(xlValue, xlPrimary).HasTitle = False
End With
Application.CommandBars("Chart").Visible = False
End Sub
