My code currently logs-out a user and relogs with
a particular login-id that has certain privileges, without checking if that user was already logged in. This is 'ethicaly' not correct. but does work fine.
The only way in the application to check is to capture the userid in the status bar but I havent been successful doing that.
I'ld really appreciate if anybody could tell me how to read from the status bar and then verify the contents.
This is a desktop applciation.
Thanks is advance
could you please use this as an example, say
if main window name is "MyApp"
and userid is "IAmTheUser"
and the status bar name is "SbrStatus"
and on the status bar first comes the date, then time and userid.
I don't know if it's relevant to your situation, but our developers implemented a rough-and-ready DDE server in our AUT, so silktest could query it for state information (e.g. who is logged in, what configuration options are set in the aut, etc). The only other option for us, if we wanted to guarantee a particular setup, would have been to close the aut and restart it at the start of every testcase.
