i'm using SIlkTest 7.5. I have a embadded browser in Outlook 2003 calendar part. So to work with this i have enabled extensions from
1. Extensions enabler: added Outlook.exe in application and selected IE DOM as primary extension.
2. Extensions dialog from silk menu: again added Outlook.exe in application and selected IE DOM as primary extension.
after doing all these settings, whenever try to record window declarations for the embadded browser, the outlook crashes.
The above mentioned settings are done from silks help file so must be right.
please help me how i can record for embadded browsers.
I have not enabled the ActiveX/Fault trap extensions and still it crashes.
Some extra info:
I am testing a web based application for scheduling. it is integrated with MS Outlook. What they have done is they have inserted one "form" in outlook and this form actually appears on the "appointment" window in Outlook's calender. This form internally displays an asp page. So to automate test cases on this form i need to enable IE DOM otherwise it does not recognize any controls on this form as it tries to treat as a normal desktop application and not a web page.
I hope this will helps for solving my problem fast.
Also, is there any facility here where i can attach a snapshot for better understanding of the problem?
Make sure that you don't check the ActiveX/Fault Trap checkboxes, unless you've been instructed specifically to do so somehow... I can't recall why. I think that Segue support gave me this piece of info. Also, make sure that you only enable exactly what you need.. no extra stuff.
Unless you are testing Outlook Web Access, I don't think you even need the IE DOM extension. Personally, I do mostly web testing so I can't tell you which, _if any_, extensions would be relevant to testing Outlook.
