Restart Agent during runtime
Is there a way to restart agent during runtime. the reason i need this capability is as follows:
We have a framework which runs around 500 different projects everyday. After every project run a cleanup is done in which our application is closed and log files related to it deleted. The next project thus gets a clean environment to start in. Now i have encountered problems where after around 10-20 projects silktest suddenly stops recognizing the application and fails. To avoid this we have come up with a solution to restart the agent as a part of the cleanup procedure.
Could some one help me with info on how this can be done through commandline. Silktest will be continuously running while the agent is being restarted.
Re: Restart Agent during runtime
The Agent now comes with a handy command line option. In SilkTest 8.x try 'agent -p 2965' where 2965 is the default port the network option will use.
I also recommend (for those inadvertant crashes, a utility by SysInternals called 'pskill' which will kill any unwanted processes like wowexec or drwtsn32 during your execution script. I have seen this many times.
