just want to know if I'm wrong or just to make sure that SilkTest is slow for everyone.
How fast is your testing ?
I test a web application.
Average form have 15 user controls.
It will take Silktest about 1 minutes to fill all thoses fields.
Adding a patient
For me, SilkTest is as fast as a Human Manual Testing.
(Remove all time du to the loading of the page
Just the time it take to retreive the control and fill it.)
Silktest is fast to fill the control, but look like it take 2-3 seconds to find it...
Am i ok ? :-)
Because right now, I think we add 1 hour of Silktest testing each month and we want to look at a way to optimize before reaching 24 hours...
Basically the same for me. You can speed up 'scraping' by using GetChildren and parsing the output yourself (in 4test), but I don't know of any trick to speed up entry.
You may want to experiment with your tags/multitags to see if you can increase the 'control identification performance' that you mention. I am not sure which kinds of tags might be fastest, if any.

I had same problem. One page I was testing had multiple tabs with a bunch of fields on each. It took 40-45 seconds for each field. Segue's response was that ASP .NET is deeply nested, making it slow. They're alledgedly working on it.
