    Re: Bindows

I've played around with it a bit. Most of the controls are seen as standard Html objects (e.g. HtmlTextField, HtmlPushButton, etc.). PopupLists are seen as HtmlTextFields, their "buttons" invisible.

Just playing around with it now, Bindows seems to have gone away and taken the Agent as hostage with it. Can't do anything with that instance of the browser, and it seems that I'll have to kill the agent process.

Bindows 1.3 is still in beta, so this may not be the best sandbox.

Which version of SilTest are you running ? I am stuck on 6.5.1 until my boss renews the maintenance contract (or we switch to mercury... which ever comes first)

    Re: Bindows

I was using 7.1. I can try again with 6.5.1 when I get into the office tomorrow and see what class mapping may be needed.

As for paying the maintenance, I'm with ya. I've told the company I'm at to stop paying until there are some significant improvements in terms of bug fixes, enhancements...well, everything. Some of the "improvements" have been inane, and some of the things that haven't worked for a long time are truly insulting.

I'll try to get back to you in the morning.

    Re: Bindows

I just tried it with 6.5.1 (101sp1) and could see most objects in Bindows as "standard" SilkTest objects. HtmlText, HtmlPushButton, HtmlTextField, HtmlCheckBox, etc.. Lists get seen as HtmlText (could be worse), and HtmlPopupList gets seen as an HtmlTextField. Some of it's just invisible, too, but it probably is in 7.1, too.

Granted, I didn't go through every possible object class on this page (http://www.bindows.net/bindows/samples/applauncher/) but I went through the standard ones.

This is like dealing with any application laden with custom objects: it's an adventure. Some of it will be easy. Much of it won't be.

    Good luck.
